KENILWORTH U15’s 26 OLD LAURENTIAN u15’s 19
WARWICKSHIRE JUNIOR CUP
The opposition got off to a strong start, scoring their first three tries, but a strong defensive performance from the Kenilworth backs, alongside some fantastic tackles across the team, kept Kenilworth in the fight. A brilliant try from Ed Vigor late in the 1st half got Kenilworth on the scoreboard, with Charlie Hamill adding the conversion. 7-19.
Despite some excellent passing moves that just didn’t quite come off, Kens came flying out of the blocks in the second half! Ed Vigor grabbed his second try of the game, quickly followed by another from winger Tom Taylor. Charlie Hamill added the conversion, and 19 all.
Kenilworth were now well on top and a penalty try gave Kenilworth further momentum, and the lead, 26-19.
Tom Taylor also produced some fantastic runs out on the wing, keeping the opposition under pressure throughout. A series of penalties in the closing minutes made for a tense finish, but the boys held their nerve to secure a hard-fought 26–19 victory!
A great result built on resilience, a strong defensive effort and a brilliant second-half response. Both players and coaches know there is still plenty more this team can offer, with lots of positives to build on as the season progresses.
Well done, Kenilworth!
